Design 6 Final Project
Sadly, this entire set of final drawings and model were based on an idea which had only been developed for 5 days. After numerous attempts to alter the design for good, I decided to have a brand new approach on the subject a week before the final.
The photos turned out fine though.

The house is located at the narrowest span of a gorge and employs long span technology as the primary structural system. The site has some exciting design opportunities, including a height differential between the two sides of the span, the view of the waterfall to the Northeast, and the view of the lake to the Southwest.

The section model shows the entire third floor being enclosed by both concrete walls and glasses. A concept I used while designing this building, that is the relationship and contrast between inside (protected area) and outdoor environment (open space). The structure fits into a real site on Ocean Dr., Miami (although the proposal is fictional). With the top floor being the main gallery of an artist who does a lot of abstract paintings of beach sceneries, I wanted the visitors to experience his amazing artworks with the presence of the beach view the entire time.
